Massey Hall presents

Many Canadian music fans know Joel Plaskett. The JUNO-Award winning songwriter and Polaris Music Prize Short List nominee has sold out clubs and concert halls from one side of the country to the other.

In 2017 he’ll be sharing the spotlight with his earliest musical influence- his father, Bill Plaskett. Solidarity, is the first full-length musical collaboration between father and son and is a powerful collection of original and traditional songs, reflecting the duo’s individual journeys and personal politics. Following Solidarity’s release, the duo will embark on a cross-country tour including a special performance for Live at Massey Hall, joined by backing band Mayhemingways.

Special Guest Elliot Brood launch the evening with their special blend of rock and alternative country.

“Solidarity, the new collaborative LP between Joel Plaskett (arguably the East Coast's biggest-ever indie star) and his father Bill (who has a formidable legacy in his own right as the cofounder of Nova Scotia's Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival), is a joyous family affair and a must own release for fans of both artist' genres.”
