Artist Development
Fueling the future of Canadian Music
As a not‑for‑profit charitable organization, The Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall has spent over a decade championing emerging artists, investing in their development and supporting their unique paths toward headlining Massey Hall and building lasting careers on our iconic stages.
OUR IMPACT
Through Artist Development, we help artists grow careers, build audiences, strengthen their teams, and make the leap to progressively larger venues. We invest strategically in mid-level emerging acts, providing resources to refine their craft, connect with new listeners, and explore ambitious creative projects.
This work is only possible thanks to our community of supporters and partners, whose generosity ensures Canadian music continues to thrive.

What We Do

Artist In Residence Program
This year-long residency—the first of its kind at Allied Music Centre—offers comprehensive support across multiple spaces in the facility, including mentorship, studio access, live performance opportunities, creative collaborations, and professional development.

Live Performance
The Artist Development program is dedicated to fostering both professional and creative growth, with the ultimate goal of helping artists realize their dream of headlining the legendary Allan Slaight Stage at Massey Hall.

Content Capture and Creation
Artists performing at Massey Hall and TD Music Hall can take advantage of professional-grade video capture capabilities built into each venue—ideal for creating high-quality live content. Through our partnership with CBC, we also offer joint programming initiatives that amplify both emerging and established Canadian artists, helping their work reach wider audiences.

Recording Studio Access
Powered by Apple and featuring Dolby Atmos technology, the Deane Cameron Recording Studio is a world-class recording facility designed to support the recording artist community and both artist development and music education.

Artist Writing Suites
Designed as creative sanctuaries, our two private artist suites offer fully equipped and acoustically treated spaces ideal for songwriting, production, and content creation.

Support the future of Canadian artists.
The Artist Development Program has supported the careers of musicians including Julian Taylor (pictured), Donovan Woods, William Prince, Kaïa Kater, Whitehorse, Leif Vollebekk, and Royal Wood—artists who have gone on to achieve national and international recognition, with our program serving as one of the meaningful milestones along their path.
Join a growing community investing in the next generation of Canadian talent.
